Ubiquitous Computing for Post-Crisis Logistics
This course is going to look at issues of loosely centralized coordination of humanitarian relief resources in the wild, either from natural or man-made causes. We are focusing on the months after a crisis, not the hours or minutes. Under this umbrella we will cover:Non-governmental relief work needs,GPS theory, technology,Wi-Fi localization theory and technology,Other localization technologies,Intro to AJAX web programming,Programming to Google Maps/ Yahoo! Maps API,Inference from location information, Sample-based inference techniques,Inference on graphs. As time allows we will look at mobile platform development issues. There are some opportunities for collaborations with the Harvard School of Public Health based on successful completion of coursework.
